“This book shows how to be a successful leader whilst upholding our responsibilities as a member of the human race.”

James Carolin, Organisational and Coaching Psychologist, says that humanity is facing a crisis of leadership in the world.

“Poor leadership robs people of their livelihoods, can create misery and conflict and hampers the advance of the human race. There are examples across the globe of people in leadership roles (even running countries) who do not have the skills their post requires,” Carolin says. “Outstanding leaders get great results but also ensure that they have a positive impact on society.”

He adds that effective leadership requires those in leadership positions to meet nine critical challenges. In his book, “The Barefoot Leader” (published by Xlibris AU), he describes the challenges and how to meet them.

“This book shows how to be a successful leader whilst upholding our responsibilities as a member of the human race.”

This book is written for current and aspiring leaders within organisations. The organisation might be one’s own start-up, a mid-size corporation, a global multinational, a not for profit or a government department. The principles in this book are derived from human behavior and therefore transcend organisational structure, size and industry type. Where any group of people gather together to achieve an outcome, this book will help the leaders in that group achieve a better outcome.

Comprehensive and practical at the same time, this book respects the readers’ time and intelligence by minimal use of stories and illustrative information. It focuses, instead, on describing how to lead more effectively – highlighting the simple things that anyone can do to be a better leader.
