The Meadows Wickenburg to Sponsor Lecture in Austin, Texas on November 14
Wickenburg, AZ (PRWEB) November 12, 2013 -- The Meadows trauma and addiction treatment center is sponsoring a complimentary lecture in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, presented by A. Michael Johnson, Ph.D., PLLC, on the topic of “Mindfulness as a Foundational Platform of Recovery and Growth.” It will be held at the Riverbend Church, The Quad, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway from 7:00 to 8:30pm.
This presentation explores the history of and nature of mindfulness meditation, samples the scientific evidence for the benefits of mindfulness meditation, connects those benefits to the processes of recovery and personal development, and offers a taste of mindfulness experience.
Dr. Johnson has been in private practice as a psychologist for more than 20 years specializing in hypnotherapy, the treatment of sexual addiction, and life and executive coaching. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989. Dr. Johnson was an Instructor and Assistant Professor for various universities from 1981 to 1998. His client's issues include addiction, depression, anxiety, infidelity, and relationship problems. He also conducts a variety of workshops in life development, relationships, and sex addiction.
