Toronto, ON (PRWEB) January 31, 2014
New online directory and marketing program provider FS Local is talking to business owners across Canada's local communities to share their inspiring entrepreneurial stories.
As part of its mission to help small businesses succeed online, FS Local has started a new blog series called Behind the Business. The series answers questions like "what makes a small business tick?" and "how did these owners get into business and why?"
"These stories that come straight from the business owners show the true passion, dedication and hard work it takes to open and run a small business in Canada," said Marketing Director, Shannon Farrell.
"I really appreciate the work the team at FS local is doing to promote small business across Canada. Even though Honey Candles is located in a small town in BC they recognized that we are a major player in the natural candle market in Canada and across North America. I felt that their interest in our company was genuine," said Leah Honkanen, Owner of Honey Candles.
FS Local started the series this past September as a way to connect people to the small businesses around them.
As FS Local President Michael Yack described, "every business has a story to tell. They may have risked their old career to focus on their passion. They may have leveraged all they had to get their business off the ground. Maybe they've been affected by a tragedy in their lives that inspired them to make a difference. Whatever their story is we want to tell it - and tell it well."
By pinpointing the most interesting and motivational aspects of small business stories, FS Local hopes to inspire more Canadians to shop and support the local businesses in their communities.
