Several Nationwide Initiatives in March Offer Supporters Opportunities to Contribute

The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research funding organizations, is excited to announce numerous promotions taking place this March. The varied ways to participate and many long-standing partnerships highlight The V Foundation’s significant work in the fight against cancer and focus on expanding ways for all to get involved. Awarding 100 percent of all direct cash donations to cutting-edge cancer research, The V Foundation has funded more than $130 million in research grants to the best and most promising investigators nationwide.

“March, Hoops, Heroes, and Hope – it’s an extraordinary time,” said Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation. “At The V Foundation we feel the momentum of so many individuals, companies, teams, and groups helping more than ever to raise funds for cancer research. At the same time, the promise of the science has never been stronger or more hopeful, and never has the funding been more critical. We ask everyone to step up, and then step up again with us so that we can, indeed, end cancer.”

From purchasing video games to dining out at restaurants, there are many opportunities to support The V Foundation this spring.

  • In its fifth year of fundraising for The V Foundation, Constellation Brands Beer Division will continue its “Your Corona Gets Us Closer to a Cure” campaign from March 1 to April 6, 2015. Constellation Brands will make a donation to The V Foundation with each purchased case of Corona Extra or Corona Light through its distributor network, retailers and other businesses.
  • Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC has launched PlayStation™ HEROES, a new, not-for-profit initiative connecting gamers with entertainment and sports celebrities on their PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system (PS4™ system). Starting this week, PS4 users can purchase digital content via an official PlayStation HEROES app to be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to play games against celebrities. 90% of proceeds will be donated to The V Foundation to benefit the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, which assists some of the most vulnerable and disproportionately impacted minority populations battling cancer.
  • Guests at 70 Apple Gold Group Applebee’s across North Carolina, Kentucky and Indiana are invited to participate in the annual March Hoops Fundraiser from March 5 to April 7, 2015. Last year’s Hoops Promotion pushed Apple Gold Group’s total fundraising efforts for The V Foundation over the $1 million mark. In the 9th year of fundraising, Apple Gold Group is starting the trek to their next million.
  • HOMAGE, a vintage-inspired apparel retailer and merchandise partner for The V Foundation, will offer more colors and styles of its V Foundation line this spring. HOMAGE will debut a women’s racer back tank as well as new colors of its “Don’t Give Up... Don’t Ever Give Up!” t-shirt.
