Spring, TX (PRWEB) December 31, 2013

Spring and The Woodlands boot camps, both of which go by the name of Fit Body Boot Camp, recently celebrated their successful “Cans for a Cause” food drive and are excited to announce that they met and exceed their initial goal of collecting 800 pounds of food for the Montgomery County Food Bank.

Shanna Layne, owner and operator of the local Texas Fit Body Boot Camps in Spring and The Woodlands, says “When I initially set the goal of collecting 800 lbs. of food to benefit The Montgomery County Food Bank, I admit - it seemed like a very lofty goal. As our Fit Body Boot Camp members started bringing in cases and cases of food, I knew we would not only meet our goal, but exceed it. I was truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our Fit Body Boot Camp members as they continued to bring in more food each and every day.”

After all their fundraising efforts, Fit Body Boot Camp Spring and The Woodlands was able to collect a grand total of 1,030 pounds of food for the Montgomery County Food Bank whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to children, families, and individuals in need.

Tracey R., a member of Layne’s Fit Body Boot Camps, says she was more than happy to help the boot camp meet their goal. She says, “I felt it was important to donate food to the Montgomery County Food Bank because being a teacher, I have seen first hand how hunger can effect children and families that struggle to put food on the table. I know how a simple task such as donating canned goods can bring relief to so many families and how a well stocked food bank gives anyone in need of a meal, access to one. My family and I are blessed to be able to help.”

Layne hopes to continue her fundraising efforts in the future with other projects because she believes giving back to the community is a great way to bring her boot camp members together as well as spread awareness of the benefits of healthy eating and exercise.

The Woodlands Fit Body Boot Camp can be found at 26710 I-45, The Woodlands, TX 77386 and is open six days a week with varying session times. Spring Fit Body Boot Camp is located at 4963 Louetta Road, Spring, TX 77379 and holds boot camp sessions Monday through Friday at 5:15 am, and 5:45 am.
