Wild Turkey is a brand of Kentucky bourbon whiskey owned by Campari Group. The Wild Turkey Distillery, located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, utilizes top-quality ingredients, a distinct aging process, and a special distillation procedure to produce a wide variety of award-winning, world-famous bourbons. With Wild Turkey’s success came growth to the company, and therefore, the need for an enhanced ability to manage employees and labor costs. To meet these needs, in early 2013, Wild Turkey Distillery selected and implemented the NOVAtime 4000 SaaS Workforce Management system, along with NT6500 fingerprint data collection terminals.
NOVAtime 4000 is a flexible, scalable, and user-friendly workforce management solution complete with time, attendance, scheduling, accrual, leave, and reporting features that operate in real-time. Wild Turkey is currently utilizing NOVAtime 4000 for approximately 80 union employees, and is continuing to add more employees to the system daily, with final usage to be about 100 employees. Shannon Meriwether, Human Resources/Payroll at Wild Turkey, states “We use NOVAtime 4000 for everything. We use it for punching in and out, vacation accrual, and the Point System for absenteeism.”
Prior to implementing NOVAtime 4000, Wild Turkey was utilizing paper time cards, which was time-consuming and difficult to track. NOVAtime 4000 streamlines time and attendance processes, allowing for more efficient management of a company’s workforce. Ms. Meriwether acknowledges the benefits of an automated timekeeping system, saying, “As employees punch in and out, information comes straight to you. And NOVAtime’s Attendance Points System keeps track of absenteeism and helps supervisors manage disciplinary situations. It makes it easier for supervisors to manage employees.” Supervisors also use the system to view employee vacation balances, and approve employee-submitted leave requests.
Additionally, NOVAtime 4000 provides a full audit trail, which assists in maintaining compliance with business rules and labor laws. “NOVAtime 4000 provides a significantly better audit trail for punching in and out than paper time cards,” says Ms. Meriwether. “Employees do time punching down to the minute; we like this because we’re not overpaying or underpaying anybody.” She continues, “We like that the system tracks vacation and personal time so we know that we haven’t possibly overpaid somebody. We could have missed that on our old time card system.” Wild Turkey utilizes ADP payroll, and NOVAtime 4000 is able to export accurate time and attendance information for payroll processing.

Jeff Neduzak, Support Services Manager at Integrated Time, “has been really pleased to meet the staff at Wild Turkey.
