Turbin Gets Up Close and Personal With Leading Grass-Fed Ranchers and Encourages the Gluten-Free and Paleo Community to Eat Grass-Fed

I hope my interviews will help inform the public about what grass-fed is all about so they can make informed choices about their meat consumption.

The celebrated author and paleo and gluten-free advocate Tina Turbin is raising awareness about eating grass-fed with several new blog posts and interviews on her popular “paleo-ish” resource website (

In hopes of spreading the word about grass-fed eating, the prolific writer has been busy reviewing and interviewing many leading grass-fed farms. In her latest interview, Turbin gets up close and personal with Rachel Gates, the Secretary and Treasurer for 5280 Land & Cattle Co., a family-owned and operated grass-fed ranch based in Colorado. With in-depth questions, Turbin probes Rachel for her background, her motivations, the details of her daily life, and the benefits of eating grass-fed beef.

According to Tina, their objective is to “provide quality, clean meat products at an affordable price to families who value knowing where their food comes from.” Turbin says, “It was a fascinating and informative interview. I really enjoyed learning more about grass-fed farming and sharing this information.”

Grass-fed beef may be more expensive than grain-fed, but the health benefits of eating grass-fed have recently been emphasized by paleo diet advocates and other health-conscious individuals. According to the author, it’s important to consume grass-fed meat because it contains the proper balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids from the greens and seeds the animals feed on. “There are many benefits that come with consuming a proper quantity of omega-3s,” Turbin says.

Turbin is interviewing several grass-fed ranches with the goal of spreading the word about grass-fed eating and humanely treated animals on farms and ranches. “My readership and the gluten-free and paleo community at large is very interested in but largely uneducated about eating grass-fed and what that all entails. I hope my interviews will help inform the public about what grass-fed is all about so they can make informed choices about their meat consumption.”
