Attorney Todd Riff Finalizes Case Stemming from Catastrophic Worksite Injury
Houston, TX (PRWEB) March 10, 2016 -- In the case, filed in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, 333rd Judicial District (Case No. 2014-52210), attorney Todd Riff reached a settlement stemming from the accident that resulted in numerous severe injuries to his client, Mark E. Johnson, a plumber. According to court documents, Mr. Johnson fell five stories through the temporary guardrail that had been installed on a 5th floor balcony, displacing his spine and ultimately resulting in the amputation of both legs.
A lawsuit was filed by Riff on behalf of Johnson against the framing company that installed the temporary guardrail. Also named in the suit was the owner of the property who was also acting as the general contractor and overseeing the construction site.
“The defendants never admitted liability; in fact, they denied it,” said Riff. “But that doesn’t change the fact that we sued them for the roles they played in creating and causing this dangerous condition, and they settled the case.”
