Tony Signals' New Book "The Adventure Begins on a Magic Carpet Woven of Steel" Takes Readers on an Exciting Ride
Recent release "The Adventure Begins on a Magic Carpet Woven of Steel" from Page Publishing author Tony Signals is a glimpse at train travel through the eyes of a child.
MINT SPRING, Va., Nov. 01, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tony Signals, the pen name of Tony Maniscalco, a retired signal maintainer on the Long Island Railroad, has completed the new book "The Adventure Begins on a Magic Carpet Woven of Steel ": a children's book that brings the reader along for a thrilling ride on a Long Island Railroad train, explaining all the action to the reader through the family on-board in the story.
"Remember your first train ride? The excitement as it arrived? Scampering into the grouped seating and knowing you only had moments to decide where to sit?" Maniscalco said of his book.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Maniscalco's descriptive tale is aided by colorful illustrations that can even give readers who have never been on a train a vivid idea of what a trip about an LIRR train would entail.
Maniscalco went on to explain his inspiration to work on trains. "As a young lad growing up in Brooklyn, I became close friends with a subway engineer on the IND Culver Line Avenue N train station. For a fifteen cent ride, the engineer taught me rigors of railroading, and I have him to thank for my start in the industry." The author received the moniker "Tony Signals" through the fact that, "There were so many 'Tonys' working on the Long Island and Amtrak Railroads that we were all assigned nicknames. Mine was Tony Signals, since I was the signal maintainer of the Harold LIRR switching tower."
Readers who wish to experience this fun ride of a story can purchase "The Adventure Begins on a Magic Carpet Woven of Steel" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
