ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- onthenetOffice, a leading IaaS provider that this year opened its 5th full-scale data center in Dallas, TX, and upgraded the majority of its storage workloads to all-flash based storage, announced today that it would be changing its name to IronOrbit. The transition to the new name will go into effect 1/1/2019.
The name change coincides with a significant rebranding effort, and marks several years of accelerating growth and innovation for the Southern California-based company.
The company's new IronOrbit branding can be previewed at http://www.ironorbit.com. This new branding better reflects the company's identity as an innovative cloud provider that goes above and beyond for its clients, according to onthenetOffice's CEO, Alexander Saca.
"We deliver a cloud infrastructure that better supports the requirements of today's businesses as a unified solution. We do it better and make it easier than other IaaS providers, including Amazon Web Services and Azure - and now have the branding to reflect that," said Saca.
Founded in 2003, onthenetOffice is a leading IaaS provider headquartered in Anaheim, CA. Their fixed-priced, all-inclusive IaaS and DaaS solutions help businesses minimize their costs while enjoying the very best in performance, security, and reliability. It provides hosted servers, desktops, and applications in one fully-integrated, easy-to-manage platform, and has long been favored by leading organizations like Northwestern University, Paul Mitchell, UCLA, and Avery Dennison for its unique approach to IaaS. More information can be found at onthenetOffice.com or ironorbit.com.
onthenetOffice may be best known for its pioneering work in the hosted desktop or Desktop as a Service (DaaS) field. Together with Citrix, it helped deliver the seminal virtual desktop solution VDI-in-a-Box. In 2007, it developed Safeweb, an ultra-secure virtual desktop platform, for one of the United States' leading nuclear research laboratories.
In addition, its SMX Speed Technology-backed desktops have long set the standard for cloud-based virtual desktop performance.
Over the years, onthenetOffice continued to expand and refine its all-inclusive IaaS offering. In addition to fully-integrated hosted servers and desktops, the solution now includes managed security, managed backups and disaster recovery, 24x7x365 IT helpdesk, and unlimited CPU, RAM, and Microsoft software upgrades, all for a fixed monthly fee.
"When I tell people about what's included with our IaaS solution, a lot of them can't believe it; they think it's too good to be true," said Robert Mourra, a Senior Account Manager at IronOrbit. "But it isn't. We have the most all-inclusive, most affordable solution in the cloud, maybe in all of IT. Period."
More recently, this year the company completed one of the world's largest deployments of CAD-ready, GPU-intensive cloud-based desktops for a prestigious Massachusetts architectural firm.
Saca continued, "We're really proud of all that we've accomplished under the onthenetOffice banner. As IronOrbit, we intend to continue that tradition, but on a much greater scale."
In addition to its new data center and storage platform upgrades, onthenetOffice has made several other significant advancements to its platform this year, including:
- Achievement of CSA STAR security certification
- Initiated its transition to the Windows 2019 platform
- Added powerful new management & monitoring features to its self-service portal
In the near term, onthenetOffice is also developing iOS and Android mobile apps that will allow administrators to securely monitor and control their entire IT with their smartphones. These groundbreaking apps are scheduled to be released in Q2 2019.
"The unique, all-inclusive approach of IronOrbit is the future of IaaS and the Cloud," said Saca. "Keep an eye on us."
