Beepods to Launch New Online Hive Inspection App on June 1st
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) May 17, 2016 -- Beepods is finalizing a new beekeeping app for mobile devices and desktop computers, which will make it easier for beekeepers to perform hive inspections and understand the health of their hive and bees.
The hive inspection app will be a welcome change for the majority of beekeepers in the world who are currently using paper inspection forms in order to record hive activity and maintenance performed. It also allows Beepods’ expert beekeepers to assess the health of customer hives even before the customer knows there is a problem.
Scott Offord, Director of Information Technology, says, “We built this app to make it easier for beekeepers to maintain healthy colonies. With the data we receive, we are able to pro-actively assist our customers and offer support–even before they know they need it.”
In light of the recent decline in the honey bee population, Beepods hopes their new beekeeping app will also provide researchers with the data and tools they need to study bee behavior more effectively. The company expects the app to be ready for its existing customers next week, with a public release on June 1, 2016.
With 65 healthy bee colonies at the moment, the new hive inspection app is making it easier for the company manage honey bee colonies at multiple apiaries around the Greater Milwaukee Area. Laura Maigatter, Director of Beekeeping Operations, states, “The app will make it so much easier to track the progress of the bees and the hives when we transfer the colonies into our customers’ full-size top-bar hives later this summer.”
Beepods provides sustainable beekeeping systems with equipment, training and support, in order to save the bees and make the beekeepers’ job easier. With its new technology, Beepods is shaping a healthier future for the honey bee.
