B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and its TownePlace Suites by Marriott Hotels Give the Gift of Warmth to Children in Need This Winter Season
Sterling, VA (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- On January 30th, the B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group and its TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dulles Airport hotel and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Gaithersburg hotel spread happiness this winter by creating handmade blankets for patients of the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D. C. The group was able to assemble and donate 35 blankets that are sure to bring smiles all around the Washington, D.C. community. This annual blanket-making program, now in its fifth year, is part of TownePlace Suites’ real giving™ program, serving the community to benefit children in local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the United States and Canada.
The B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group believes that it is very important to give back to the Washington D.C. community. So important that it made responsible business and community involvement a part of its corporate balanced scorecard in 2014.
“We know full-well the importance of giving back to our communities,” says Mark G. Carrier, president of B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group. “And we take tremendous pride in being active and thoughtful community citizens. Hotels have a unique opportunity to be a beacon of strength and stability for their surrounding areas, so we consider it an honor to be able to carry that responsibility within the community.”
The real giving™ blankets were assembled at the Hospitality Group’s annual Revenue Rally at the Executive Conference and Training Center in Sterling, Virginia. Teams from the Hospitality Group’s 19 hotels met to discuss revenue building strategies for the new year and to engage in many team building activities. One of the main team building activities was putting together the real giving™ blankets for the Children’s Miracle Network. This dedication to philanthropy was not only demonstrated at a corporate level, but also by the team members of each of the hotels in attendance.
Making a special appearance at the Hospitality Group’s revenue rally was Loren Nalewanski, vice president and global brand manager for TownePlace Suites by Marriott. “This annual tradition truly warms my heart,” said Nalewanski. “TownePlace Suites' mission is to take care of our extended-stay hotel guests while they're on the road and our real giving™ program allows us to take care of our communities as well.”
Through volunteer service and donation opportunities, this wonderful program engages TownePlace Suites guests, owners, franchisees and team members to work together with local volunteers, establish partnerships with local hospitals and benefit people in their local communities.
This year, the TownePlace Suites brand is celebrating its continued commitment to the real giving™ program with a goal of donating 10,000 blankets to children in hospitals. Across the United States and Canada, hotels are raising money to pay for materials, organizing blanket-making events and making deliveries to children in local hospitals.
