It’s wonderful to see e-recording continue to expand throughout the state of Connecticut, and we know customers will be excited to now have the option to submit their documents online.
TOWN OF WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (PRWEB) April 16, 2014
Two more Connecticut recording jurisdictions, the Town of West Hartford and the Town of Stonington, have started electronic recording (e-recording) with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, enabling faster, more efficient recording of land record documents.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, the towns’ recording customers including title companies, banks, attorneys and other document submitters can quickly scan, upload, and send land record documents to the clerk’s office from their computer.
“Not only does e-recording provide a faster way to record time-sensitive documents, it also saves customers on mailing, postage, and fuel expenses,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s wonderful to see e-recording continue to expand throughout the state of Connecticut, and we know customers will be excited to now have the option to submit their documents online.”
When documents are submitted for e-recording, the clerk’s office is able to receive, review, stamp, record, and return the document back to the submitter electronically, cutting down the wait time for recorded documents from several days or weeks to minutes, as customers no longer have to rely on the mail.
Check-writing expenses and check-handling at the clerk’s office are also eliminated with e-recording, as recording fees and payments can be electronically processed through Simplifile via Automated Clearing House (ACH).
With the addition of these two towns, the state of Connecticut now has 12 recording jurisdictions that have implemented e-recording with Simplifile.
