Bobby Rahal Toyota Encourages Local Teens to Practice Safe Driving Through TeenDrive365 Video Challenge
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (PRWEB) November 18, 2015 -- Bobby Rahal Toyota encourages local teenagers to enter into Toyota's TeenDrive365 Video Challenge. For the fifth year running, the challenge asks students to steer the conversation when it comes to driving safely and avoiding distractions while behind the wheel. The contest invites high schoolers from across the nation to shoot their own public service announcement that raises awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.
A panel consisting of Toyota representatives, community leaders, communication experts and educators will judge entries. The grand prize winner will receive $15,000 and the opportunity to work with a Discovery Education film crew to turn their video into a television-ready public service announcement. The second place recipient will win $10,000 and get an invite to a taping of a Velocity Network program. The third place winner will receive $7,500, and a people's choice entry will receive $5,000 along with a trip to attend the Velocity Network program taping. For the first time in this competition's history, Toyota will extend awards to the top 10 national entrants as well as the top four regional winners. Fourth to tenth place national winners will each receive $2,500, and the four regional winners will receive $1,000.
"This is a great event to raise students' awareness of the hazards associated with distracted driving," said Todd Swope, general manager of Bobby Rahal Toyota. "Teens really love to watch and post videos online, and this gives them the chance to do that with a meaningful, entertaining video that could win them thousands of dollars and maybe even help save lives!"
Discovery Education and Toyota have partnered together to make this campaign a reality. They designed this challenge around the fact that the biggest influence on teen behavior remains other teens. By creating this platform, teens are encouraged to inspire and inform their peers through their video storytelling skills.
Last year over 1000 videos were submitted to the challenge. If students are interested, they can submit their videos at http://www.TeenDrive365inschool.com through March 7, 2016.
