Realtor Traci Johnson Shares Autumn Home-Buying Secrets
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) September 07, 2016 -- Spring and summer are widely considered the best home-buying seasons. However, fall is overtaking these “prime” seasons as the best time to buy. “In autumn, buyer competition is less, and this means motivated sellers,” said Traci Johnson, a Crye-Leike Realtor and leading relocation specialist.
For buyers considering purchasing a new home this fall, Johnson lists the following three tips:
No. 1: Serious sellers. “For sellers whose homes languished on the market during the ‘prime’ spring and summer seasons, they are primed to sell and ready to make a deal,” said Johnson. “They are also more inclined to reduce the asking price and/or accept a lower offer.”
No. 2: Low interest rates. Interest rates are at historic lows, which means more purchasing power for buyers. Furthermore, interest rates are expected to remain low through the end of the year.
No. 3: Seasonal sales. “After buying a house, the new owner typically wants to make improvements, buy new furniture and household items, etc., and fall is the best time to do this as sales abound,” concluded Johnson. “For example, according to Consumer Reports, September is a great time to buy carpet and paint. October is when lawnmowers go on sale, and appliances and cookware are less expensive in November.”
