Bible, Science Come Together for New Children’s Book
Riverside, CA (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- The events of the 1925 Scopes Trial serve as the backdrop of author Tracy Del Campo’s new children’s book, “Beyond the Attic Door” (published by WestBow Press), which brings the debate on the origin of life to children.
Set in Missouri in 1925, “Beyond the Attic Door” blends fiction with the true events of the Scopes Trial. Schoolteacher John Scopes is arrested and tried for teaching evolution in class, which fuels the debate between creationists and evolutionists and affects children in schools.
As this is going on, 11-year-old Lulu is having doubts about her faith in God. When she and her brother, 7-year-old Buddy, sneak into the attic workshop of their scientist uncle who is looking for a way to prove God’s existence, the two encounter a strange device that sends them on a harrowing adventure through time where they discover what faith is all about.
Through her book, Del Campo aims to bring the creation/evolution debate to children, assuring them that God and science can be compatible while entertaining them with an engaging story.
