VIGO, Spain, June 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Handy Gym, the world's smallest gym, launches on Kickstarter. The portable gym uses inertial technology to build strength and muscle without lifting weights.
Handy Gym uses inertial training, which was developed by NASA and is a strength training method that is independent of gravity. This allows for a resistance training method that is stronger and safer than weight training. Handy Gym comes with a flywheel that supports movements in any direction but also creates resistance in both concentric and eccentric movements. By combining these two essential movements, Handy Gym helps users develop muscles and prevent injury in the process.
"After I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, I realized that strength training would not always be a possibility for me," said Manuel Montes, CEO of Traktus. "I developed Handy Gym for people who want alternative ways to build strength that is easy on the body and can be taken anywhere."
More than 200 exercises can be performed using Handy Gym. This fitness accessory can be used to target specific muscle groups or to achieve a full body workout. Handy Gym uses three interchangeable discs — yellow, blue or red — to achieve varying inertia levels. The resistance levels apply to the inertia level that is chosen for training, and workouts can be customized for all fitness levels or workout types.
Yellow discs provide lower resistance, blue provide medium resistance, and red provide high resistance - up to 220lbs. The lower resistance discs are ideal for smaller muscle groups like arms and shoulders, or for those newer to fitness routines. The higher resistance discs are suited for large muscle groups including legs and back, or for those who are more advanced in their fitness regimen.
Handy Gym is lightweight and portable, and it can be set up in 5 seconds. The system weighs 28 ounces in total and fits in a backpack or suitcase, so it can be taken anywhere. Handy Gym also offers a smartphone app that tracks training performance. The app connects to Handy Gym's built-in sensors via Bluetooth to track calories burned, time spent training and strength used in real time. In addition, the app offers guides to a variety of strength and rehabilitation exercises. Handy Gym is available to pre-order starting at $479 by visiting http://pr.go2.fund/traktus.
