Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) June 29, 2016 -- transcosmos inc. entered into a definitive agreement with UNQ (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shanghai, China; CEO & Founder: Wang Yong; hereafter, UNQ), which included additional investment in UNQ and an enhancement of the capital and business alliance with the company. transcosmos is the second largest shareholder after Wang Yong, President & Founder of UNQ. With this additional investment, transcosmos’s ownership ratio in the company increases from 26.3% to 39.9%.
As an E-Commerce distributor mainly for Japanese brands such as SHISEIDO, KOSE, SUNSTAR, unicharm and Calbee, UNQ operates wholesales and sales promotional activities for major Chinese online retailers including JUMEI, The Store and JD.com, with official sales representative rights. The company also operates business-to-consumer sales through the opening UNQ brand stores with those online retailers as well as operating brands’ flagship stores and its own flagship store on TMALL. Furthermore, through building a Japan-to-China cross-border E-Commerce model, UNQ is now driving its efforts to expanding Japanese brands’ sales in China.
In addition to its highly attractive and extensive product selection as well as merchandising skill, UNQ has a high strength in closing deals based on its rich marketing know-how, which ultimately results in sales. As the largest E-Commerce distributor in China which specializes in cosmetics, personal care and food products, UNQ continues to achieve a big leap in sales in recent years and plans to surpass 60 billion yen by 2020.
Since signing a capital and business alliance agreement with UNQ in March 2015, transcosmos has been engaging in the Chinese E-Commerce distribution process as an E-Commerce distributor. By increasing its stake in UNQ, transcosmos further enhances its partnership with the company and aggressively drives its direct sales model to sell its client companies’ superior products via leading Chinese online retailers. transcosmos aims to make further contributions to expanding client companies’ sales through selling their products not only in China but also in ASEAN and Western markets by leveraging transcosmos’s BtoC channel and other sales channels, respectively.
