(Head Office: Tokyo, Japan; President & CEO: Shigeru Kishikawa; hereafter Vision Critical) and have started to provide research and analysis services using the next-generation research system known as "Insight Community." Targeted toward enterprises which are engaged in operations such as direct marketing and membership-based businesses, the aim is to achieve three trial introductions within fiscal year 2013 and 30 full-scale introductions by fiscal year 2014.

"Insight Community" is a new research method for customer understanding

Recently, the kind of "market research" employed until now, where representativeness was emphasized, has become separated from effective strategies. Rather than as a "market," "Insight Community" has been attracting attention, whereby "customers" with a high sense of participation who use the products and services of one’s company are solicited online as panelists (community participants) and information such as the subconscious feelings and behavior patterns of these customers is collected by promoting communication on a continuing basis. Outside of Japan, "Insight Community" is actually incorporated into business processes including the planning and validation of campaigns, idea generation for new products, sales and support. This produces an effect as if the customers were actually present and having conversations at the table during activities such as planning and brainstorming sessions within the company, and this is achieving success in improving the speed and accuracy of decision-making.

Starting to provide the next-generation research system from Vision Critical; Full outsourcing for construction and operation

In order to meet the needs of "insight communities" which are also growing in Japan, transcosmos analytics has formed a business alliance with Vision Critical, which has an extensive implementation track record and operational know-how overseas, and has begun offering a next-generation research system specialized for "insight communities" developed by Vision Critical. The flexibility and speed of research work for client companies will be improved by building a permanent research platform which combines the data scientists of transcosmos analytics (experts in research, analysis and statistics, etc.) with the next-generation research system of Vision Critical to support areas including operation and management of "insight communities" as well as research planning and reporting all in a single package. In addition, linking up with other databases, such as those for call centers and websites, enables high value-added research and analysis that correlates with the behavior and consciousness of actual customers.

Conducting a trial introduction campaign

transcosmos analytics is beginning a trial introduction campaign coinciding with the current release, in order to have clients try the next generation research system from Vision Critical and to establish a track record of three or more introductions within the 2013 fiscal year. Moreover, enterprises which are engaged in operations such as direct marketing and membership-based businesses will be targeted for the goal of achieving 30 full-scale introductions by fiscal year 2014.

As a further joint effort between industry and academia, there are plans to begin an "Insight Community" operation targeting persons such as students and faculty with the cooperation of Tama University (Tama City, Tokyo), in order to collaborate on research into more productive ways to utilize "insight community" and to enhance the value of services.
