transcosmos Launches Cross-Border Sales App, Leveraging its Own Platform
Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) October 07, 2016 -- transcosmos inc. launched an app for cross-border sales, leveraging the company’s own platform. The company has also been developing the app for cross-border sales to China for Takashimaya Company, Limited (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; President: Shigeru Kimoto; hereafter, Takashimaya), discussing selling and operational procedures with Takashimaya. transcosmos will release the platform-based service in Takashimaya stores from around mid-October.
Once the client companies implement the platform, they can make cross-border sales using the app. Their Chinese customers that visit the stores in Japan or in China can simply purchase the products by opening the app from the smartphones and scanning the QR code set on the sample products displayed in the stores. The service also allows the companies to run various promotional campaigns via the app, including promotions for repeat purchases, targeting the Chinese customers who have become their registered members during their stay in Japan, even after the customers return home. In this way, businesses can build One to One customer touchpoints with Chinese consumers who have visited their stores in Japan.
The platform utilizes KJT.com, a cross-border e-commerce platform led by Shanghai municipal government, which enables electronic customs clearance at customs located in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. Using the platform, the Chinese consumers can shop via cross-border e-commerce in an officially approved way, making advanced payments for the product, delivery cost and associated import duties on cross-border e-commerce retail shopping.
transcosmos established a joint venture “TAKASHIMAYA TRANSCOSMOS INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE PTE. LTD.” with Takashimaya, in March 2015. The company operates both wholesale and retail sales business and aims for connecting Japanese companies that own Japanese superior products with overseas companies and consumers that want to have those products. transcosmos will capitalize on its diverse sales channels in e-commerce business arena and its operating know-how gained through providing global e-commerce one-stop services to further accelerate its initiative to deliver Japanese products to consumers around the globe, going beyond China.
