Kent, WA (PRWEB) October 08, 2013
Transformative Wave is proud to announce the public release of the Department of Energy study of the CATALYST that reports average savings of 57 percent in field trials. The CATALYST was chosen as the product to be evaluated in a two-year study commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through the Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL). Transformative Wave has collaborated with the PNNL throughout the trials and shared operational data obtained via its eIQ Platform. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the ability of the patented CATALYST to reduce commercial HVAC energy use as a retrofit upgrade to existing packaged rooftop units (RTU). The study covered CATALYST upgrades on 66 existing rooftop units (RTUs) across the nation in four climate zones and varying building types. The PNNL chose the CATALYST over other options based on the product’s features and maturity. The full DOE report is now available to the public.
Danny Miller, President of Transformative Wave, responded to the release, “After two years of collaborating with the great staff at the PNNL, it is rewarding to see these results. It validates the power of the CATALYST to deliver an effective efficiency solution beyond lighting. We consider this to be the highest authority in the country providing clear evidence from the field of what we have been proving for the last four years, the CATALYST works! It is a fully commercialized and market ready product that we deliver directly and through our valued Affiliate Partners across the country. I would like to thank the PNNL and the many clients who agreed to participate in the trials including: Whole Foods, Staples, BJ’s Wholesale, Cleveland Clinic, Bartell Drugs, City of Everett, General Growth Properties and Steadfast Companies.”
The CATALYST, North America’s leading efficiency solution for constant volume HVAC systems, has a proven track record of reducing commercial and industrial customers’ HVAC energy use by 25%-50% in a cost-effective manner. It is manufactured and shipped as an easy-to-install pre-wired kit that radically lowers the energy use and improves the performance of constant volume HVAC systems. Transformative Wave’s eIQ Platform provides customers real-time visualization and interaction with CATALYST-equipped HVAC units for performance verification, fault alerts, remote set point adjustment and scheduling via a web interface. Both products have a long history of success in the field.
