While trying to catch a strange animal, 8-year-old Sophie falls from a tree and wakes in prehistoric Texas with no idea how to get home in Beverly Parkhurst Moss’ new novel “Sophie's Adventures in Time” (published by Archway Publishing).
The story begins with Sophie’s life in modern times. She deals with the heartbreak of losing her mother who goes missing the day after they have a fight. When her father returns from Afghanistan they travel to Salado, Texas, where she meets an introverted little boy who is a musical genius. They climb an ancient tree in the courtyard in pursuit of a strange animal. They fall and find themselves in prehistoric Texas. After they return to the present day, they climb the tree again but this time, they end up in the Wild West. During their journey, they meet many authentic Texas characters.

Beverly Parkhurst Moss fell into publishing in the ’70s when she created a human interest magazine that became an insert in a major newspaper.
