The Bair Foundation Celebrates National Foster Care Month
(PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- The Bair Foundation is celebrating National Foster Care Month nationally and at their two New Mexico locations. The Christian nonprofit organization provides comprehensive, treatment foster care in a home-based setting to children and teens who have been traumatized by abuse and neglect.
“By becoming a foster parent you give a child in need the opportunity to rebuild and experience a loving family atmosphere. By becoming a foster parent through the Bair Foundation, you are supported by professionals who are well educated in helping you care for these children. Bair provides educational classes that lay the ground work to help these children feel wanted and cared for. You can be the rock they stand on to have a better life,” stated Dorie Alcaro, Marketing Director for The Bair Foundation.
Over 400,000 children need foster care in the United States, this month The Bair Foundation will continue to increase awareness for the need of foster parents nationwide. The Bair Foundation offers a variety of opportunities to get involved including full-time and part-time foster parenting, foster-to-adopt, medically needy foster care, and emergency foster-care.
“These children need a second chance at childhood and together as a community we can give that to them,” continued Alcaro.
This year’s theme for National Foster Care Month is “Building Blocks Towards Permanent Families” and is sponsored by The Children’s Bureau and Child Welfare Information Gateway. For more information on National Foster Care Month please visit: nfpaonline.org/fcm.
