Treeo - Addictive Emoji Voting Launches for iPhone
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 01, 2017 -- Zermelo, Inc. announced the release of the companies' first app today, Treeo for iPhone. Treeo brings the popular “3×3 celeb voting game” that goes by many names around the world to the iPhone for the first time. The game has penetrated pop culture over the past 20 years with countless appearances in hit movies, TV shows, top YouTube videos and more. Treeo expands the game beyond just celebrities with a new “fling” voting gesture that lets users solve debates over the cutest dress, funniest movie, greatest athlete and more. After a successful beta with massive user engagement, Treeo aims to prove that traditional polling apps are menial and outdated. To vote on a “Treeo” users simply drag one of three images or GIFs (e.g. movie posters) into three emoji categories (e.g. Rotten, Netflix, Premiere). This new voting mechanism is what drives the apps tagline “Addictive emoji voting!”.
“We saw that users were more likely to vote on a 3x3 poll than any other poll we could find. When we tried to understand why, we learned that it’s psychologically satisfying for humans to classify objects into buckets,” said Mike Rundle, Co-Founder of Zermelo, Inc. “But what we see driving the most engagement is users ability to see how their friends voted on a Treeo - only after they vote themselves - and then react to that vote with a message or emoji,” says Rundle, which seems to highlight a key differentiator between Treeo and traditional polling apps: showing individual friends votes. “Users who have replied to a friends’ vote end up voting 2.8x more than users who haven’t yet sent a reply.”
The free app allows users to vote on topics across the board like fashion, food, homes, sports, politics, entertainment and more. A lot of the Treeos within these topics are created and posted by official company accounts, but any user can make a Treeo and share it with their followers within the app or with their friends and networks through SMS, Twitter, Messenger, Facebook and more. These shared Treeos present another unique approach to the social space, anyone can vote on a shared Treeo on the web without ever downloading the app or making an account, a capability that just may prove to be key to the apps rapid growth.
