Trinity Ventures (“Trinity”), a leading early stage technology venture capital firm, today announced an investor promotion and two new key hires. John Lin has been promoted to principal, Prakash Ramamurthy has been hired as operating partner, and Lisa Coca has joined as an Executive in Residence (EIR).

“This is an exciting time for Trinity Ventures. We’re delighted to both recognize the strength of our talent bench and measurably add to it,” said Trinity Ventures general partner Ajay Chopra.

During John Lin’s tenure at Trinity, he has been involved in multiple key investments, including Synapse, Branch, Gatsby, Grow Mobility, Side and Squire Technologies. “As a former founder and startup operator myself, I joined Trinity to help entrepreneurs build lasting iconic companies,” said Lin. “Whether it be brainstorming startup ideas, designing product, helping recruit world-class talent, or being someone to bounce thoughts off at 10pm, I am thrilled to support great founders however I can. I’m excited to continue this important work as a proud member of our Trinity family.”

A former SVP & GM of Product Development at Oracle, Chief Product and Technology Officer at LifeLock, and EIR at Trinity, Prakash Ramamurthy is an established enterprise SaaS thought leader and senior practitioner with nearly three decades of experience. As operating partner, Ramamurthy will draw on his significant technology leadership experience to provide strategic technical and operational advice to portfolio companies on a part-time basis. “Ever since serving as an EIR at Trinity six years ago, I’ve been a part of the Trinity family and have witnessed firsthand the integrity, ingenuity and utter devotion to their entrepreneurs that define this firm. I’m thrilled to be re-joining the team in such a meaningful capacity,” said Ramamurthy.

Lisa Coca is serving as an Executive in Residence (EIR) at Trinity Ventures, having previously spent seven years at GE Ventures where she was a founding member who launched and led the firm’s enterprise software practice. She has also held senior operational roles at financial services and commercial real estate firms. “I’m excited to be a part of such a storied firm,” said Coca. “Trinity was founded on a commitment to investing with heart. Those people-focused values continue to shine clearly today, and I’m grateful to contribute to such a worthy mission.”
