Tulsa, Oklahoma (PRWEB) February 11, 2014
Volunteer Tulsa will present Tulsa’s first Coffee Crawl to highlight the booming local coffee culture while raising awareness of volunteerism. The event, to be held on Sat., March 1, 2014, offers two sessions: 9 a.m. – Noon, and 1-4 p.m., and will give “Coffee Crawlers” the opportunity to experience the individuality of participating businesses while enjoying the energy of downtown.
Each business will offer coffee, tea, alcohol and/or selected foods as well as highlighting each business’ unique personality and coffee specialties with educational “coffee talks” at set times. At each stop, Volunteer Tulsa will offer the opportunity for interested participants to learn about the organization and establish a personal profile on http://www.volunteertulsa.org to find volunteer opportunities that fit individualized areas of interest.
Seven local businesses will participate in the Coffee Crawl:
-Foolish Things Coffee Company
-Joebot’s Coffee Bar
-Mod’s Coffee and Crepes
-Topeca Coffee, Hyatt Regency
-Topeca, The Mayo Hotel
“The Coffee Crawl is Volunteer Tulsa’s way of highlighting downtown Tulsa’s thriving coffee scene created by locally-owned businesses while focusing on the different facets and singularities of coffee,” says Brenda Michael-Haggard, executive director of Volunteer Tulsa. “What better way to spend the day supporting the community by championing volunteerism and local businesses!”
Volunteer Tulsa’s mission is to create a volunteer environment that enriches the lives of area residents while addressing issues and needs within the community. Volunteer Tulsa is eastern Oklahoma’s affiliate of the Points of Light Institute/HandsOn Network, the nation’s largest volunteer and citizen action network.
