Tusker Trail Announces the Kilimanjaro Climb for Valor
Lake Tahoe, Nevada (PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- Tusker Trail, a world-class adventure travel company known for its rugged Himalayan treks and Kilimanjaro climbs, announces its newest charity fundraising project, the Kilimanjaro Climb for Valor.
Set for Winter 2015, the climb has been designed by company founder/owner Eddie Frank to benefit Special Forces soldiers and their families via the Harriman-Miller Green Beret Organization, a non-profit, all-volunteer charity dedicated to U.S. Special Forces. Tusker Trail has set the climb’s fundraising goal at a minimum of $100,000. Every single dollar raised on the climb is guaranteed to go to intended recipients through the charity, which owns deep respect within the tight-knit Special Forces community.
Tusker Trail has reserved 12 Valor slots for intrepid fundraising climbers. On the climb, the lucky 12 will join world-class adventurer and Tusker founder, Eddie Frank; two U.S. Special Forces veterans wounded in action; and two widows of Green Berets who have fallen. Climbers are certain to share an epic, enduring adventure with people who know what it means to sacrifice. The experience will be heartfelt, humanity-rich, and challenging.
Tusker Trail enjoys credibility and a well-established reputation in fundraising. The company has led over 70 Kilimanjaro charity climbs for diverse organizations, including Make-A-Wish, CARE, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Amani Children’s Home in Tanzania, the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, and Canadian Blood Services. To date, the company has helped charitable organizations around the world raise over $11M. The Kilimanjaro Valor Climb promises to be one of Tusker Trail’s most unique and meaningful charity climbs.
Dates for the Kilimanjaro Climb for Valor are set for February 15-26, 2015. $5290 PP. On this once-in-a-lifetime 12-day trek along Tusker Trail’s Northern Circuit route, climbers will traverse the entire mountain, trekking over the untouched and rarely-seen northern slopes of Kilimanjaro, which at 19,341 ft., reigns as the world’s highest solitary peak.
The minimum donation required to secure one of Tusker’s 12 Valor slots will be $10,000. 100% of funds raised will go directly to wounded or fallen Special Forces soldiers and their families via the Harriman-Miller Green Beret Organization. “Entry” donations can be either singled-sourced or pooled.
