WeRTeachers announced today the successful launch and first month of production for its first-of-its-kind website, WeRTeachers.com. WeRTeachers is the first tutoring marketplace to provide only professional teachers for online and in-person tutoring.

“E-commerce tutoring marketplaces have historically been plagued by low quality and dismal customer satisfaction ratings. By bringing together a world-class online platform, screened and qualified teachers, as well as partnering with academic institutions, we’re providing students and families with access to the best teachers for their supplemental education needs. Additionally, our unique school programs give back to schools and communities, improving education for all children,” said Co-founder and President Robert Young.

Founding partners Robert Young and Josiah Cameron are experienced classroom teachers from Los Angeles who created WeRTeachers in 2016 to address deficiencies in the tutoring industry. The company has grown significantly in 2017. The addition of Mark Poling to the team as CEO is a particularly important milestone for WeRTeachers, as he brings extensive experience building world-class online marketplaces. The web platform launched on May 1, 2017, and is exceeding expected teacher volumes in its first month of operations. This is especially impressive considering WeRTeachers only hires the top 20% of teachers that apply.

“The best teachers have a passion to teach, but often lack access to students and families seeking high-quality instructors. We knew that by creating a different marketplace that only partners with classroom teachers, there would be a massive demand from teachers and students alike. The response from the teacher community has exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be more excited to watch our vision become reality,” said Co-founder and Chief Relationship Officer Josiah Cameron.

Brad Zacuto, Head of School at Westside Neighborhood School in Los Angeles, has the following to say about this exciting new company: “We are tremendously excited to support WeRTeachers because we believe in their mission of providing every student with 1-on-1 attention. Teachers are absolutely better educators than typical tutors, and we appreciate that a cornerstone of WeRTeachers’ mission is to support classroom instruction and our school’s learning philosophy.”

Vince Downey, Head of School at Calvary Christian School in Los Angeles, reports that families at his school “often ask us how they can academically stretch and support their children outside of the classroom, and we love the consistent reliability provided by teachers affiliated with WeRTeachers.”

The WeRTeachers platform is free for both students and teachers. Not only does WeRTeachers provide access to a database of highly qualified teachers specializing in all academic disciplines, the platform also features intuitive scheduling tools and the ability to facilitate tutoring lessons online.

About WeRTeachers: WeRTeachers is an online tutoring marketplace utilizing only the highest quality classroom teachers to provide students access to the best educational resources nationally.
