Florida CEO Turns Part-Time Blog Into Full-Time Multi-Platform News Source Called TwoTen Magazine For Christian Business Leaders Nationwide
Greensboro, North Carolina (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- John Faulkner started a tree trimming business in 1984 with a pickup truck and a chain saw, his purpose was simple; to provide for his family and remain faithful to God.
Today Faulkner is a C12 member and CEO of Cornerstone Solutions Group based in Dade City. His small tree trimming business has grown into one of the largest full-service landscape and construction companies in the Southeast. It employs more than 360 people and averages $25 million annually in revenue.
Twelve years ago Faulkner started writing short articles for the company website and various Christian magazines. But it was a flight to Texas that inspired him to start TwoTen Magazine; “I picked up this book to read on the plane, ‘The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership', by John Maxwell. I opened that book and I was mesmerized by the content. I wondered, what if I could produce a magazine that would allow me to reach others in business that same way?”
Faulkner realized he wanted to inspire others to run their businesses to glorify God and to give them tips on succeeding in the marketplace. So he enlisted the help of a friend, Richard William Hayes, stage IV cancer survivor and CEO of Digital Lightbridge.
Together they launched TwoTen Magazine, inspired by the New Testament Bible verse Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Since its launch, TwoTen Magazine has featured exclusive interviews with Shannon Bream, Fox News Correspondent; Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy; ESPN college football analyst Tim Tebow; Pediatric Neurosurgeon and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Dr. Ben Carson; Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts and America’s beloved pastor, Christian evangelist Billy Graham.
Faulkner and Hayes say TwoTen’s mission is clear, “To inspire, encourage and equip business leaders with Christian principles to make an eternal, positive impact on everyone that God has entrusted them to serve.”
Both men agree that just as the Gutenberg Revolution granted the generation of the Reformation unprecedented new opportunities to communicate their message, the Digital Revolution presents today’s believers with tools, platforms, and opportunities that previous generations of Christians could not have imagined.
