The programs they (UP) provide are so critically important for our global youth right now, and they show great bravery in continuing their efforts.

US Sports Camps has been sponsoring Ultimate Peace (UP) for the last two years by donating Nike hats for UP campers and staff. The hats provide protection from the scorching Middle Eastern sun while campers play ultimate for several hours a day.
Ultimate Peace was established by founders Dr. David Barkan, Linda Sidorsky, and Dori Yaniv in the spring of 2008 and brings together youth from Palestinian, Arab Israeli, and Israeli Jewish communities to learn, play, and unite around the character building sport of Ultimate Frisbee. With a focus on teamwork, personal responsibility, and leadership, the sport of Ultimate is used to bring together youth who would otherwise never meet due to the regional conflict. The UP vision is that youth from diverse social and cultural backgrounds around the world will build new understandings, share meaningful experiences, and develop lasting relationships in the UP program.
Camp UP is the culmination of the Ultimate Peace year-round program. The week-long sessions provide a unique opportunity for hundreds of youth from diverse communities to live, play, eat, and lead together in a joyous action-packed overnight camp. It is this 24/7 immersion experience that breaks down barriers and cements these fragile yet vital bonds through a shared experience of practice, competition, fun, and connection.
Camp UP had its first season in 2010, and will be going into its 6th consecutive season in 2015. Each season there are two camps; a Summer Camp (for youth new to UP) and a Training Camp (for returning campers advancing in the UP program). The camps are located at Kfar Silver in Ashkelon. In additional to exceptional ultimate instruction from some of the best players and coaches in the world, the Camp UP program also focuses on community-building through diverse recreational and sports activities, relationship-building through team development, cross-cultural sharing and appreciation, highlighting the five core values of Ultimate Peace, as well as lots of fun social activities.
"Supporting Ultimate Peace gives US Sports great pride,” said US Sports Camps CEO Charlie Hoeveler. "The programs they provide are so critically important for our global youth right now, and they show great bravery in continuing their efforts, even in very turbulent times like last summer. We are just proud and humbled be a small part of their outstanding efforts.”
