Dr. Jill Biden Joins Remarkable Girls and Women to Celebrate International Women’s Day
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- The United Nations Foundation, Women’s Foreign Policy Group and the United Nations Information Center will host a luncheon in celebration of International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 5th. Dr. Jill Biden, a lifelong educator, mother and Second Lady of the United States, will join Cathy Russell, U.S. Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues, to give remarks on the many achievements of girls and women around the world and how we can ensure that their rights and needs remain at the top of the global agenda.
The event will also feature a conversation among prominent youth leaders, who will discuss the unique challenges facing adolescent girls in developing countries today, and how Americans can get involved to spur progress for girls globally.
