FREDERICK, Md., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Friday January 11, 2019, a Frederick family received a much welcomed gift—a new high efficiency heating system—through the "Gift of Warmth" program sponsored by BGE Home and United Way of Frederick County.
Mohamed Ismail, a hard-working local, restaurant cashier, was nominated back in November. Mohamed lives with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and their one year old daughter (his granddaughter). While Mohamed's wife is out of work, his daughter and son-in-law work, but even with three incomes, the family still struggles to make ends meet. Another factor that really made Mohamed Ismail's nomination stand out is the fact that the current HVAC system in his home is more than 20 years old and does not work properly.
"One thing that many ALICE (Asset, Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families struggle with, is the difficult decision of which bill to pay and which bill and repairs can be put off so that they can stay above water," said James Baker, Prosperity Center Manager.
On January 11, a team of BGE Home technicians installed a new high-efficiency heating system at the Ismail residence.
