University of Redlands Recognized as Military-Friendly School
Redlands, CA (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- G.I. Jobs has named the University of Redlands a “2014 Military-Friendly School" for offering the best education, value and welcome to military students. According to G.I. Jobs, there are more than 8 million military members and veterans seeking school nationwide. The ranking recognizes top colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.
Approximately 16% of the University of Redlands graduating class of 2013 were veterans. This included graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and School of Education.
“The University of Redlands has a rich tradition of educating our military students that goes back to WWII and the V-12 Navy College Training Program. Since that time the University has continued to support and educate the active duty military, reservists, veterans and the families of the U.S. Armed Forces. It is an honor for our University to serve those who have sacrificed so much,” said Cheryl Kleeman, veteran affairs specialist/certifying official and U.S. Coast Guard Veteran at the University of Redlands.
The University of Redlands has in place a support system for members of the military and veterans who enroll at any of the University’s locations. This support system includes a VA Specialist Certifying Official, a Director of Military Outreach, a dedicated Admissions Counselor, a membership in a Student Veteran Organization and recognition at Commencement.
The G.I. Jobs survey results that comprise the 2014 list were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and the Guide to Military Friendly Schools.
