Upside Launches First Bracket-Style App for Draft
On the heels of March Madness, a new platform enters the market for football fans with bracket fever.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Upside Games today launched a first-of-its-kind mobile app surrounding the 2019 draft, featuring an interactive contest for which the grand prize is one million dollars. Appropriately dubbed the First Round Money Picks $1,000,000 Challenge, users of the free Upside app (http://play.upsidegames.com) are given the opportunity to fill in a list of who they think will be picked in the first round of the draft in Nashville. Make the correct picks in the correct order? Upside pays $1,000,000.
"People go crazy around the draft," says Tim Keough, Upside's founder. "We wanted to give users a chance to show off their football knowledge. And on the heels of March Madness, we couldn't believe there wasn't something on the market that allowed people to make their own draft picks."
Upside allows users to do just that. Upon download, users are given a blank set of 32 picks, which they then fill with who they think are the top athletes of the 2019 potential draftees. And while the contest requires all picks to be correct and in order for the grand prize, Upside offers various prizes for less-than-perfect performances. Simply filling out the top half of the class correctly could send you and a friend to the Super Bowl.
Beyond the Money Picks Challenge, much is in store for Upside Games. "Fantasy sports have been relatively standardized for a long time," explains Keough. "People are ready for a new spin on fantasy, and that's what we're doing with Upside." Without going into too much detail, Keough says users can expect many more novel games and contests, especially as the football season ramps up later this year. "And we're not just looking at football. If it's a sport, it's in the future for Upside."
Upside Games is available for download from the App Store and Google Play Store. Users have until 7:30p ET this Thursday, April 25, 2019 to submit their draft picks for free. More information on contest prizes, rules, and eligibility can be found at http://upsidegames.com.
