DCBrau and UrbanStems Launch First Ever Hop Bouquet to benefit Miriam’s Kitchen
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- DC Brau Brewing Company and UrbanStems - DC's on-demand flower delivery startup - pay homage to the wedding origins of the first Oktoberfest celebration by launching the first-ever commercially available bouquet made with live hops. The “Brew-quet” is part of a two-week partnership launching on Monday, September 15, in conjunction with the release of DC Brau’s first Oktoberfest, a true Marzen lager.
All proceeds benefit Miriam’s Kitchen from the $35 purchase of the Brew-quet (hop and flower) bouquet and includes a limited edition DC Brau & UrbanStems can-style pint glass, with free delivery throughout DC and Arlington, Va. within an hour via bike messenger. The flowers make their debut at DC Brau’s Saturday growler hours and Oktoberfest release. Orders can be placed on UrbanStems.com for delivery on September 15-26.
“Each day, we serve roughly 300 chronically homeless individuals with first rate meals and case management services, and we want each and every person to feel appreciated,” says Emily Hagel, Miriam’s Kitchen’s director of kitchen operations. “The fresh flowers we place on every table are an important gesture that tells our guests that they are welcome, that they belong, and that we respect their human dignity. We’re thrilled to partner with two great local companies and to be chosen as the beneficiary for the Brew-quet.”
Since launching in February, UrbanStems has made its mission to encourage Washingtonians to spread happiness through flowers. Partnering with DC Brau fulfills their goal of working with other local companies to help those in need.
