Glenwood Hot Springs Named a BEST HOTEL POOL in USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards
Glenwood Springs, Colo. (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- After four weeks of intense voting, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool was named a big winner in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards. The media group’s editors announced the final results of the contest on Friday, May 15, naming Glenwood Hot Springs Pool the runner-up for Best Hotel Pool behind the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
“We are ecstatic with the results!” said Jeremy Gilley, Director of Sales and Revenue for Glenwood Hot Springs and the Spa of the Rockies. “Finishing in one of the top spots for Best Hotel Pool in such a prestigious national competition is an honor for our property and our mountain community.”
Glenwood Hot Springs Pool and all the nominees for the contest were initially chosen by a panel of travel media professionals and experts from USA Today and 10Best.com. The category of Best Hotel Pool featured 20 contenders, all elite travel destinations with exceptional pool amenities, and all vying for the number one spot. Each property was encouraged to use social media to connect with voters. The winning properties were determined by the number of votes cast.
“We were up against some very stiff competition; properties with major marketing resources at their disposal. Thanks to everyone who voted for Glenwood Hot Springs Pool and helped spread the word to get the vote out,” said Gilley.
Best Hotel Pool was one of several of categories in the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The contest featured a plethora of travel-related interests which included everything from traditional categories such as Best Historic Hotel and Best Restaurant to the more unconventional like Best Zoo Exhibit and Best State Slogan.
The top finishers in the contest, including Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, receive significant media recognition through a variety of outlets. While the 10 Best Readers’ Choice Award contest resides on 10Best.com, a standalone travel media site, it is promoted across USA Today Travel Media Group’s digital and mobile products, as well as via social media. Winners are also announced and promoted across relevant USA Today departments, and through Gannett media outlets, including the websites of its 81 local newspapers and 43 television stations.
The USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice award adds to Glenwood Hot Springs’ growing list of accolades. Sunset Magazine recently named Glenwood Hot Springs Pool as the Best Hotel Pool in its first ever 2015 Travel Awards which is featured in the June 2015 issue. Other notable recognition includes CNN Travel’s America’s Most Amazing Hotel Pools (2013) and Trekaroo’s Best Hotel Pools in the U.S. for Families (2012).
