Four-Time Pro Bowl Player and Retired NFL Quarterback Michael Vick Aims to Highlight Talented Youth Athletes in the V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase Series
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) April 24, 2017 -- Michael Vick announced his retirement earlier this year from the NFL after thirteen seasons electrifying fans and transforming the quarterback position. The former overall number one pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, to the Atlanta Falcons, made four Pro Bowl appearances over his professional football career. He holds the record for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback (6,109) and the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season (1,039). The former Virginia Tech quarterback standout on the field career accomplishments include the NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2010), recipient of the Archie Griffin Award (1999), Big East Offensive Player of the Year (1999) and Big East Rookie of the Year (1999).
Michael Vick has now turned his sights to the next chapter guiding young athletes. Teaming up with the National Playmakers Academy (NPA), together they will produce and host the V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase Series in a multi-city tour kicking off in Nashville, Tennessee on April 30, 2017 at Tennessee State University, located at 3500 John A Merritt Blvd. The V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase featuring 5th - 8th grade athletes will take place Sunday, April 30 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM and high school athletes grades 9th - 12th, on Sunday, April 30th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Registration costs begin at $90.00 per player.
The V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase Series will also be held in the following cities: Dallas, TX, Powder Springs, GA (Atlanta-metro area); Virginia Beach, VA, Miami, FL, Chicago, IL, Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX and Los Angeles, CA.
The V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase Series powered by National Playmakers Academy will be the premier camp destination in the South and East coast. The V7 Elite Playmakers Showcase Series will provide an interactive camp setting where athletes will receive a combination of instruction from elite college and professional coaches and athletes, performance evaluated by college coaches nationwide via live streaming, access to exclusive V7 gear, and competition from elite talent nationwide.
Top Performers from every camp will be selected to participate in the V7 Elite Playmakers All American game in Atlanta, GA at a future date to be announced. The week’s festivities will be hosted by Michael Vick along with numerous current and past NFL stars and coaches.
“My vision for the camp is to provide young athletes the visibility and recognition from college recruiters and coaches who may not otherwise have the opportunity in a smaller market” explained Vick.
