Valdosta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 10, 2013
Two local Valdosta organizations are teaming-up to help keep children safe on Georgia’s roadways. The attorneys at the Studstill Firm, LLP and fire fighters from the Valdosta Fire Department have scheduled a car seat safety check event for later this month. It will be held in the law firm’s parking lot located at 311 N. Patterson Street in Downtown Valdosta on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event is being held on the last day of National Passenger Safety Week, a time designated each year to helping prevent child injuries and deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents. Haynes Studstill, a partner in the firm’s Lowndes County office, believes the firm has an obligation to do what it can to improve child safety on our State’s roadways. “Car accidents are the leading cause of death for children ages one to thirteen,” said Studstill. “This is a disturbing statistic that can be changed if everyone commits to using the correct car seat for their child, and driving safer on our community’s roads.”
The event is open to all drivers and families in Valdosta and the surrounding communities. Certified technicians will be checking car seats and boosters for proper condition, size, and positioning in the vehicle. Each family will also receive a safety-related giveaway courtesy of the Studstill Firm, LLP, and refreshments will be available at no charge.
