Award-winning hotel operator, Valencia Group, watched its portfolio grow from three, nationally recognized properties and two brands to five premier hotels and three brands this winter season. The Texas-based company is proud to announce the November 6, 2013 opening of Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO and the December 24, 2013 debut of Lone Star Court in Austin, TX.

Sorella, Italian for sister, is positioned as the “precocious sibling” to Valencia Group’s Hotel Valencia brand, which includes Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX and Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose, CA. Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza is the first expansion of the Hotel Sorella concept, which launched in Houston, TX in 2009 with Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE. Designed to evoke the luxury and romance of a Mediterranean villa, while playfully meshing both classic and contemporary elements, the hotel will serve as a sophisticated addition to Kansas City’s famed Country Club Plaza shopping and entertainment district, which was inspired by the architecture of Seville, Spain.
Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza features 132 luxuriously appointed guestrooms with nine suites, including a Presidential. A complimentary European breakfast will be served daily, and Wi-Fi will be available throughout the property and accommodations at no charge. Guests can enjoy premium dining and curated cocktails at Rosso restaurant and Bar Rosso, plus postcard views of the city from the gracefully styled rooftop pool terrace, complete with cabanas and fire pits. The Kansas City jewel will also offer approximately 5,700 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
In Austin, Valencia Group premieres an upscale, retro-inspired court concept: Lone Star Court. Touted as “Authentic Americana”, the123-room brand flagship was conceived with a “ranch-tech” vibe designed to appeal to both business and leisure travelers. The experience and aesthetic that draws directly from its relaxed Texas Hill Country and savvy Austin surroundings – an impact felt from public art to amenities.
True to its location, Lone Star Court will feature live music by an outdoor fire pit, a dipping pool reminiscent of a swimming hole and an onsite food trailer court. The restaurant and bar will be a destination for Austinites as well as visitors. The property will also have approximately 2,000 square feet of interior meeting space, a 1,600-square-foot covered pavilion and an adjacent, 1,800-square-foot lawn.
