VanAuto Motorsports Attends 39th Annual Frog Follies
Evansville, IN (PRWEB) August 30, 2014 -- VanAuto Motorsports, a classic car dealership which opened in April of 2014, was in attendance for the largest pre-49 street rod show known as the Frog Follies. The street rods lined up at the Evansville 4-H Fairgrounds on August 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. For a vehicle to be considered a street rod it must be a 1948 or older model, or manufactured after 1948 to resemble a vehicle manufactured before 1949. These vehicles range in size and color, and many of them are highly customized inside and out.
Visitors and vendors traveled from near and far to join in on the unique car show. Although this was one of the hottest weekends for Evansville with heat index temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, it did not deter car enthusiasts from attending the show which is held by the E’ville Iron Street Rods LTD. Many of the attendees at the Frog Follies were very experienced, as they travel around the US to join in on these Car Shows. They came prepared with coolers, tents, fans, and many of them even brought or rented scooters to ride around the Fairgrounds for easier viewing.
Among the hundreds of Street Rods at the Frog Follies was a Metallic Green 1932 Reo Flying Cloud, which is owned by VanAuto Motorsports. The 82 year old Reo has been uniquely transformed, both internally and externally. The components on the engine are from a 2004 Pontiac GTO, the transmission is from a 2004 Chevy Truck, the Computer is from a 2004 Pontiac GTO, the rear end is from a 1999 S-10, and the taillights are from a 1932 Ford. The Flying Cloud also comes with air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD deck, and even a matching trailer which VanAuto found very useful for taking supplies to the Frog Follies. The 1932 Reo Flying Cloud got considerable attention at the show, since it is such a rare vehicle and in great condition for its age.
The car dealership, which buys and sells classic, muscle, and exotic cars, was not only in attendance as a vendor, but also as a buyer. They are constantly looking for new and unique vehicles for their dealership so this weekend was the perfect opportunity to see many vehicles without having to travel different places. VanAuto Motorsports purchased 5 vehicles at the Frog Follies Street Rod show including a Chrysler Imperial, Chevrolet Chevelle, Ford Thunderbird, Dodge Charger, and a Honda VTX1300.
VanAuto’s mission is “Drive Your Investment.” The vehicles they sell provide enjoyment to their owners and become part of their investment portfolio.
“One of the most rewarding ways a person can diversify their investment portfolio is by purchasing a rare classic car. A lot of investors equate it to putting a Picasso in their garage,” says Brian Wedding, owner of VanAuto Motorsports.
The dealership welcomes potential buyers to browse their unique inventory at http://www.VanAuto.com, though they suggest driving to their location to view the vehicles in person. VanAuto Motorsports is located at 2501 Kratzville Rd., Evansville, IN 47710; hours of operation are M-F, 8am-6pm, and Saturdays from 8am-4pm.
