Connecticut Innovations Named to Entrepreneur’s VC 100 List
Rocky Hill, Conn. (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Connecticut Innovations (CI), the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut's innovative, growing companies, today announced it has been named to Entrepreneur’s VC 100 list, a list of the most active venture capital firms funding U.S. startups.
The VC 100 list of top early-stage venture capital firms is based on data from PitchBook. The firms are ranked by total capital invested in seed and/or early stage venture capital deals that were completed in the U.S. during 2013.
“Our model allows us to remain a very active early-stage investor,” said Claire Leonardi, CEO of Connecticut Innovations. “We are investing at a time that is extremely critical for the development of these companies. These investments may take longer to generate a return but we are helping companies to conduct product testing, develop prototypes, execute clinical trials, roll out marketing plans and finalize go-to-market strategies that will provide the best growth opportunities for the companies in the future.”
The PitchBook platform's research process involves a daily systematic review of thousands of news and public filing sources, which is then confirmed, clarified and refined through direct communication with key contacts at target companies, investors, limited partners, and professional service providers.
Entrepreneur reviewed data from Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2013 to compile this report.
