Austin, TX-based HIMS Inc. is proud and excited this week as news came down from their international headquarters that the already popular CANDY 5 HD II Handheld Video Magnifier has been presented with the 2015 Red Dot Award for outstanding design of a rehabilitation, life science or medicine product. CANDY 5 HD II was selected for this award from amongst 1000’s of submissions.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most internationally recognized awards of excellence, honoring innovations in the categories of product design, communication design and concept design. The judging standard is based on the design innovation, aesthetic, superiority, marketability and functionality. This year, 4,928 products from 56 countries were submitted for consideration of the Red Dot Design Award. CANDY5 HD II has received the 2015 Red Dot Award in the category of rehabilitation, life science and medicine.

CANDY5 HD II is a handheld magnification device that can help those with low vision read printed text in magazines, mail and grocery items, view family and vacation photos and a host of other items including medication bottles, wall-posted flyers and much more. CANDY 5 HD II features a patented ergonomic, three-position handle, easily distinguishable buttons and a foldable reading leg on its underside to provide comfortable and intuitive usability for low vision users. CANDY 5 HD II also has continuous zoom magnification and multiple definable color modes so that low vision users can set the device according to their vision condition and the material they are viewing. Easily switch to CANDY's unique built-in front-viewing second camera for a mirror view, allowing a magnified self view for personal grooming by the low vision user. Its 5" widescreen HD display ensures a high-quality image and reduces eye fatigue.
