CHICAGO, March 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Vi at The Glen, a Vi community located in the suburban North Shore area of Glenview, announced today that registered nurse Marissa Salvaleon has been named one of Crain's Chicago Business' 2021 "Notable Healthcare Heroes." The Crain's list celebrates Chicago area doctors, nurses, EMTs and home health care providers who have served tirelessly on the front lines of the pandemic over the last year.
Known by her colleagues for her calm and caring demeanor, Salvaleon has worked as a registered nurse at Vi at The Glen since 2017. As a member of the skilled nursing team, she seeks to provide comfort and solace to residents, while also educating them about how to thrive when they are well enough to return to their homes. In early March 2020, Marissa was approached to work in the COVID-19 unit at the community. Despite the unknowns and concerns of her colleagues, Marissa quickly volunteered. She not only agreed to work in the unit when it first opened but has continued to work for the past 10 months since the unit has been open.
