UCSB wanted to provide its departments with more consistent real-time data to help people make better decisions. Visus LLC’s contributions to UCSB’s Financial System Implementation Project encompassed three initiatives. The first entailed redesigning current Microsoft .NET applications’ interaction with proprietary middleware to interface with PeopleSoft Financials. The second initiative involved re-architecting a procurement application to interface with PeopleSoft Financials. This application previously only provided interfaces to SciQuest eProcurement to manage hundreds of user accounts and purchasing authorizations. It was enhanced to include additional functionality, which allowed UCSB to make effective use of the PeopleSoft Financials chart of accounts capabilities. The third initiative involved designing and implementing a data integration solution between PeopleSoft Financials and the campus’s existing data warehouse. Visus LLC also designed and implemented a suite of reports to perform regression testing of the data migration. This allowed for repeatable and semi-automated, end-to-end testing between PeopleSoft Financials and the data warehouse.

During the deployment, Visus ensured that continuous operation was provided to all departments on campus that depend on the availability of the data.
