Congressman Lance Praises Home Health Professionals at VNA Event
Basking Ridge, NJ (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) addressed attendees at the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Somerset Hills Annual Meeting on May 14, 2014 at the Somerset County Senior Wellness Center in Basking Ridge, NJ. Lance, a member of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee and Chairman of the Congressional Rare Disease Caucus, is dedicated to supporting programs and legislation that improve access to high quality, cost-effective healthcare. In-home medical care provided by the VNA of Somerset Hills and other home health agencies plays an important role in helping individuals remain independent, home, and out of the more costly hospital setting.
“We are honored to have Congressman Lance attend the VNA Annual Meeting. His commitment to improving availability of affordable healthcare to all members of the community is at the heart of our mission at the VNA,” said Ann Painter, RN, MSN, President & CEO, VNA of Somerset Hills. “As a community-focused organization, we applaud his long-time service to the people of New Jersey,” stated Painter.
Keynote speaker Rose Madden-Baer, DNP, RN, MHSA, CPHQ, CHCE, shared valuable insights about the evolving and important role of home care in her presentation, Emerging Care Models for Community-Based Health. Currently Vice President, Clinical Operations Strategy and Development at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), Madden-Baer has received national recognition for her innovative research and programs concerning behavioral health, public health management and the delivery of home care services.
