FedEx will award a total of $50,000 to 10 small businesses with the grand prize grant of $25,000.
In order to become a finalist in the program, Gyploy needs to receive as many votes as possible in order to boost visibility in the contest and is one of the factors that FedEx will consider when selecting the top 100 finalists and the winners The public can show support for Gyploy by voting online using personal Facebook login information. The voting period begins January 16, 2014 and ends February 23, 2014. The top 100 will be announced February 26, 2014 and grant winners will be announced March 24, 2014. Gyploy was launched in 2010 and sales have improved every year. The upward swing is attributed to how Gyploy customers and society, in general, are becoming more environmentally friendly.
Gyploy has struggled with the recognition it seeks in order to compete online. The grant from FedEx will definitely help Gyploy develop the branding needed in becoming relevant in the retail industry. “The funding from FedEx will give Gyploy an extraordinary opportunity to develop branding needed for us to continue in doing our part in creating a more eco-friendly, greener world,” said James Tucker, Owner of Gyploy.
This grant program is a great opportunity for small businesses individuals to grow. The 10 grant recipients will each receive grants ranging from the grand prize winner receiving $25,000 to second-place participants of $1000.
