VoteRunLead Offers "Run As You Are" Training Sessions for Women Interested in Running for Political Office

“We are in a new political reality in America. Voters are done with ‘politics as usual’ and have demonstrated an openness to new kinds of leadership,” noted Erin Vilardi, founder and CEO of VoteRunLead.org. “This is a perfect time for women to run!"

VoteRunLead.org is a non-partisan non-profit training powerhouse, founded by Erin Vilardi, formerly of The White House Project, to leverage technology and training programs to accelerate the number of women in civic and political leadership. Since the November 2016 election, VoteRunLead has seen an unprecedented number of women signing up to be trained to run for office.

More women than ever before are qualified to run for elected office. There are no rules or experiences that qualify someone to be a political leader and there is no definition of who aspires to leadership. Anyone that has the passion to serve their community is able to be a leader. Most women today already have the experience, talent and networks to achieve their political ambition. These five VoteRunLead.org seminars held throughout Michigan will help women realize their passion and learn how to harness that passion to achieve political leadership. The VoteRunLead seminars are led by VoteRunLead.org’s co-founder and board chair Shannon Garrett and include a day-long training is for any woman ready to step into politics with a purpose. The VoteRunLead.org training sessions will train women to:

  • Articulate their experience as expertise
  • Demystify the campaign trail
  • Identify roles for a women’s “squad”
  • Expand local networks
  • Outline a path to political leadership

VoteRunLead.org will be holding three training sessions in Michigan in April, May and June. To register for any of the VoteRunLead sessions, visit VoteRunLead.org. The training session dates are:

More women today than ever before are throwing their hat into the political arena and while this may be a new endeavor to many women, VoteRunLead.org s helping them learn how to run for office. The Minneapolis/St. Paul area is a great example of women being successful in their quest for political office with the recent election win by Ilhan Omar, the nation’s first Somali-born legislature and a VoteRunLead.org alumna.
