Indore, Madhya Pradesh (PRWEB) June 26, 2014
The city of Indore, even after so many government declarations and development, still cannot be claimed as an IT city. And this is a story of completion of four successful years of an IT startup in this non-IT city.
The employees were puzzled when they saw their office decorated in roses and balloons at 10 AM in the morning. The curiosity grew even further when they saw a red rose and a handwritten greeting card welcoming them on their desk. They didn’t exactly know what was the reason for all the decoration, but they sure did understand that somehow it was a very special day for Walkover. The smell of the roses, the handwritten greetings on their table and the smiles on the faces of higher management implied it. The occasion, they came to know later, was the 4th anniversary of the Company.
Story of Walkover
This is a technical tale of three young entrepreneurs, who started an IT firm because they wanted to see the world use the IT industry in right sense, and they had faith in their innovative minds and had the guts to chase their dreams. They wanted to bring about a difference. This tale has, today, completed four years in industry. And the mantra to the Company’s success is being creative in the hard work that has been done over the years.
The humble beginnings
When they started four years back, Indoris were yet to hear government announcements of making their city the IT hub of the state. But these young entrepreneurs were too futuristic to wait for the government to decide their city’s future. They wanted to carve a future of their city with their own hands. And they decided that this is time. The three of them started the company and executed their plans, and today, the Company has a creative force of 50 people.
The leap over hard times
The Company welcomes people with a standie on its entrance and the first lines to be read are “IT companies are known not by their names, but by the kind of work they do.” The kind of work that Walkover has done, is the reason why they have come past the hard times so soon. Their products have given the users an inevitable easiness. Like, Giddh(http://giddh.com/), their online accounting software, can very easily be used by even people of non-accounting background. Their another product, MSG91(https://msg91.com/), a bulk SMS solution, is being used by some of the big names like Barista Lavazza, NTPC Limited etc.
Art within the IT
The evening meeting saw all the employees gathering together to formulate the future strategies. Mr. Pushpendra Agrawal, CEO of company, asked his co-workers to become an art fanatic even while coding. He said, “Every Walker must be a great designer. I want everyone to be a great artist. Whatever you may do, just try to find an artistic satisfaction in it. That’s important. And that is how you’ll grow, we’ll grow.”
The Vision and Mission
He continued by very emotionally reminiscing the starting years of the Company and the zeal with which they have fought to stay in the market in a non-IT city like Indore. He put forth the vision and mission for company and said, “Our Vision is to bring the best possible tools to make people’s lives better.” He put forth the mission in front of his colleagues of completing the version 1 of every of their product at earliest. He remarked, “We are not machines, so do less manual work, automate the processes, make them organized and independent. And we will achieve this by developing a big R&D team of experts and students. We will create Walkover labs and we will bring the best tools.”
When everyone spoke a common tongue
A common thing that every employee admitted is that the working atmosphere of the company has been the healthiest atmosphere they have ever worked in. They also shared their interview experiences, and how their talent remained the judge of their selection in the company instead of their college degrees.
Kudos to Walkover family that they have found a perfect balance between cozy atmosphere and the height that they have attained.
