Greg Adler to Lead Team 4 Wheel Parts South of the Border for Battle of Baja
Compton, California (PRWEB) June 16, 2016 -- Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts will be battling the world’s preeminent short course off-road racers on the sandy beaches of Ensenada, Mexico this weekend as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series makes its south of the border encore appearance. The June 18-19 doubleheader sees the series returning to Baja for just the second time after its 2015 inaugural appearance found Adler and the circuit greeted by a capacity crowd eager to absorb the full throttle, 900HP, door banging off-road racing action.
While the region is synonymous with off-road desert racing, the up close and personal stadium atmosphere provides a sharp contrast to the wide open expanses that have traditionally only allowed spectators a passing glimpse of race vehicles as they roar by at speed.
“We were overwhelmed by the reception we received in our first visit to Estero Beach last season,” said Adler. “It was a great opportunity for us to interact with so many spectators that were getting their first close up view of these amazing race vehicles.”
This weekend marks the halfway point of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series season and Crew Chief, Mike Seat and the Team are anticipating some unique challenges from the purpose-built Baja International Short Course track at Estero Beach. Now, Adler returns to Baja looking to regain the form that led to a pair of podium visits in the first four rounds of racing.
“The new truck is getting dialed in and we have had the opportunity to learn what kind of speed we’re capable of,” said Adler. “The track is right alongside the beach, so while the Ensenada Bay provides a nice backdrop for the fans, the surface is incredibly soft and the track really gets torn up. It’s going to be important for us to have the right set up out of the box if we’re going to get back on the podium this weekend.”
The Baja International Short Course facility at Estero Beach opens its gates to the public at 8:30 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday with full access to the open paddock throughout the event. Fans can take advantage of a full day of racing action featuring open practice and qualifying sessions along with the afternoon’s main event, the 900HP Pro 4 division featuring Greg Adler.
“The first year, it was big, but we know that when we go back to Baja, it’s going to be huge,” said Adler. “We’ve been looking forward to coming back to Ensenada all season. Our roots are in Baja off-road racing and we’re excited to put on a great show for the fans and come away with a strong showing this weekend.”
After returning from Mexico, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series circuit will come home to Southern California’s Glen Helen Raceway along with stops in Reno, Nevada and Lake Elsinore, California before completing the season with the Challenge Cup in Chandler, Arizona. The experience of witnessing the thunder of 900HP trucks roaring into the first corner is best seen up close and in person, but the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series also airs live on lucasoilracing.tv. Additionally, the series will be broadcast throughout the season on CBS, the CBS Sports Network and MAVTV.
