Tribal Leaders, Elected Officials, Civil Rights Leaders & Community Activists to Rally at Washington-Minnesota NFL Game in Support of Retiring the D.C. Team’s Racist Name

The Change the Mascot campaign will join a diverse coalition who will come together on November 2 ahead of the Minnesota-Washington NFL game in opposition to the D.C. team’s offensive mascot. The protest’s speakers and participants will include Members of Congress, Native American leaders, University of Minnesota representatives, and a wide range of local and national activists and concerned citizens.

WHAT: A coalition of tribal nations, Native American organizations, and the University of Minnesota are hosting a rally to support retiring the Washington NFL team name and mascot. The rally will take place before the Minnesota-Washington NFL game on November 2.

WHO: Speakers include: Congresswoman Betty McCollum, Oneida Nation Representative Ray Halbritter, Navajo activist Amanda Blackhorse, and representatives from several Native American tribes and organizations across the country. A complete agenda and list of speakers is available here.

WHEN: Sunday, November 2, 10 a.m.-Noon

WHERE: South side of TCF Bank Stadium, adjacent to:
2221 University Ave Southeast, Minneapolis
